"Dessert anyone?" The waiter asked.
Tom, settling back into his chair at their regular weekend brunch café responed "Better not," Mike sighed, patting his own growing midsection "Sarah's been on my case about getting more active. She sent me a link to Elanora’s membership promotion the other day.”
Tom leaned forward, suddenly interested. "Funny you mention that. My doctor just gave me the whole 'you're not getting any younger' speech last week. Apparently, my blood pressure's creeping up."
"Yeah? Mine too. But honestly, at our age, is joining a club really worth it? I mean, we're not exactly looking to become the next Olympic athletes," Mike chuckled.
"Actually, I've been doing some research," Tom said, pulling out his phone. "Did you know that regular exercise doesn't just help with the obvious stuff like weight loss? It's pretty amazing what it does for your overall health."
"Like what?" Asked Mike.

"Well, for starters, as we know and keep denying, it significantly reduces our risk of getting all sorts of diseases - heart problems, diabetes, even certain types of cancer. But here's what really caught my attention - people who exercise regularly report much better mental health, have less anxiety, better mood, the whole package. They even report some improve their sexual performance as an added bonus!"
Mike raised an eyebrow. "Mental health and even sexual performance? Really?"
"Oh yeah. Apparently, when you exercise in group settings, it can lower stress levels by something like 26%. And you know how I've been struggling with sleep lately? Regular physical activity is supposed to help with that too."
"But come on, Tom. Between work and family, who's got the time? Sarah's already laughing at the idea of me in gym shorts," Mike said, shaking his head.
"That's the thing, though. We're not the only ones struggling with this. Lots of people our age find it hard to make time. But here's what got me thinking - remember how stressed I've been at work lately? Studies show that regular exercise actually improves workplace performance. Better concentration, more energy, the works. What interests me is being able to play with the kids. As they older they’re more active and if I’m being honest I just can’t keep up."
"Okay, you've got my attention," Mike admitted. "But a gym or squash? Isn't that a bit... intimidating? I used to work out and have a weekly hit, back in my uni days."
"That's why I'm thinking about Elanora Squash & Fitness. They've got this whole social aspect going. It's not just about working out - you can join group classes, play squash, meet new people. The kids would love it and we could spend more quality family time together.”
Mike took a thoughtful sip of his drink. "Sarah would love that. She's always saying we need to meet new people." "Exactly! And get this - couples who exercise together often end up with stronger relationships. It's like a date night with health benefits," Tom grinned.
"You know what? Maybe we should check it out," Mike suggested. "Might be less intimidating if start by going together."
"Now you're talking! And honestly, we're not getting any younger, right?"
Mike nodded, pulling out his phone. "Let me just check their website... They've got a special promotion right now, pay 2023 prices for the next 12 months! Sounds like a sign to me, what do you say? Are you in?”
"Count me in," Tom said, raising his glass. "To new beginnings?"
"Cheers!" They chimed.
