Carolyn is a regular gym goer at Elanora Fitness and despite suffering with hip degeneration and arthritis in general, she has managed to increase her flexibility, strength and mobility with her personal training programs. Her past achievements include 3 x City2Surfs, 4 x Pub2Pubs, and 2 x SunCity runs. In 2012 she completed her best time in the Blackmores Half Marathon, running from start to finish.
Her most intensive training to date has been in 2010 where she trained 7 days a week for 3 months straight! This was in preparation for trekking the Kokoda trail – one of the best experiences of her life, which she says “had a lot to do with the power of the mind”.
Carolyn’s current training program is now in preparation for a trekking expedition up Mt Kilimajaro in mid-August, on a 9 day trek -wow! Where does she get her inspiration from? “I like to do things outside my comfort zone. That’s where I have a great sense of accomplishment”.
